Nigeria-eligible midfielder Huang Shenghao receives first senior China call-up

Huang Shenghao has received his first call-up to the China senior national team, despite being eligible to represent Nigeria. According to All Nigeria Football, the 19-year-old midfielder was born in Guangzhou to a Chinese mother and Nigerian father. Huang plays for Guangdong GZ-Power and impressed during the 2026 Toulon Tournament, starting all four matches for China Under-19s.

His defensive displays earned him recognition from senior coach Shao Jiayi. He has joined China’s training camp ahead of the Chongqing International Football Invitational Tournament, where they are scheduled to face the Maldives, New Zealand, Palestine and Tajikistan. A senior appearance could strengthen his international commitment to China.
