Nigeria has defeated terrorists – Defence Minister Musa declares

Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, says Nigeria has defeated terrorists, citing a significant decline in the frequency and scale of attacks across the country.

Musa made the claim during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, saying security had improved under President Bola Tinubu, according to The Sun.

“Frankly speaking we have (defeated terrorists) because now, like I said, the attacks are not as rampant and it is now kidnapping,” he said.

The minister, however, acknowledged that kidnapping remained a major concern, describing it as a social ill. He said military pressure had disrupted terrorist strongholds and forced criminal groups to resort increasingly to abductions and kidnappings to raise funds.
