Nigeria police launch app for reporting fraud cases
Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu launched the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App and the NPF–MTN Closed User Group Network on Tuesday to boost fraud reporting and internal police communication, according to a Punch Newspapers report.
Unveiled at the NPF Conference Centre in Abuja, the citizen-facing Vigilant App lets users submit fraud reports, upload evidence and track cases, developed with financial-sector stakeholders including the CBN and NIBSS.
The CUG Network offers police nationwide secure, affordable communication for emergency response. Disu described the platforms as part of the Force’s digital transformation, urging lawful, ethical deployment respecting citizens’ privacy and data protection.
