Nigerian man jailed six years in UK for raping two girls under 12
A Nigerian man, Daniel Olowookere, has been sentenced to six years in prison in the United Kingdom after pleading guilty to raping two girls aged under 12.
According to SaharaReporters, the conviction was reported Tuesday following proceedings at Manchester Crown Court.
Olowookere, a resident of Blackley who relocated from Nigeria, initially denied the allegations before changing his plea to guilty.
Witnesses reportedly described him as showing “zero remorse”, alleging that he shook his head while the judge delivered the sentence.
His defence team reportedly cited his cultural background as a mitigating factor, but the judge maintained that no circumstances could justify sexually abusing children.
Investigators also expressed concerns that additional victims might exist and urged anyone with relevant information to contact authorities.
The case has attracted attention following reports of the sentencing and the circumstances surrounding the offences.
However, the reported courtroom details have not been independently confirmed through official court records.
