No return to royal duties: King’s letter spells out Harry and Meghan’s status
According to BBC, a letter sent on behalf of King Charles has clarified that Prince Harry and Meghan will remain non-working royals following their return to the UK from California with their children last month. The letter, dispatched by the Lord Chamberlain to Harry’s team, government departments, and Lord Lieutenants, confirms the Sussexes cannot use “HRH” titles and remain “private citizens.” It reaffirms the 2020 Sandringham Agreement, ruling out any “half-in and half-out” royal status. Any future engagements will be conducted privately, not on behalf of the Royal Family. The letter also addresses ongoing security disputes, stating operational issues should be directed to police authorities rather than the Palace.
