NSCDC rescues 15 trafficked minors allegedly sold for N2m each

According to the Vanguard, the agency has rescued 15 minors trafficked and sold for N2 million each by a man posing as an official of the National Council of Child Rights Advocate. NSCDC spokesperson Babawale Afolabi said the suspect lured impoverished parents in Nasarawa State’s Kokona LGA with promises of free education under a fake “Back to School Project.”

The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad tracked buyers across multiple states, rescuing three victims in Anambra, Imo and Enugu, and 12 others along eastern transit routes. Three suspects, one male and two female, were arrested and face prosecution once investigations conclude.
