Nwaiwu opens Trabzonspor account in dominant victory over Samsunspor

Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu scored his first goal of the 2026/27 season as Trabzonspor defeated Samsunspor 3-0 in the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday, according to PUNCH Newspapers. Nwaiwu doubled Trabzonspor’s lead in the 38th minute, reacting quickly after goalkeeper Okan Kocuk failed to hold Ernest Muçi’s effort.

Muçi had opened the scoring two minutes earlier, before Franculino Djú completed the first-half rout in the 40th minute. The 23-year-old defender played 93 minutes, recording four tackles, four interceptions and four clearances. He completed 85 per cent of his passes and earned an 8.7 rating.
