Video: Olu Jacobs buried in Lagos
Veteran Nigerian actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest in Lagos following a funeral service attended by family members, Nollywood stars, friends and dignitaries.
According to TheCable Lifestyle, the funeral was held at the Freedom Center in Lekki on Friday, weeks after Jacobs died in September aged 82.
Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun were among dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
Nollywood personalities present included Kate Henshaw, Ireti Doyle, Shaffy Bello, Stan Nze, Lala Akindoju, OC Ukeje, Patrick Doyle and Stephanie Okereke.
A night of tributes and service of songs had earlier been held in honour of the late actor on Wednesday.
Jacobs studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before building a distinguished acting career in Britain and Nigeria.
He appeared in hundreds of Nollywood productions and received several honours, including the 2021 Africa International Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2023 AMVeCA Industry Merit Award.
