Olubadan raises alarm over poor state of UCH, urges Tinubu to act
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has expressed concern over the poor condition of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Daily Post reports.
The traditional ruler and former Oyo State governor urged the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, to urgently resuscitate the health facility. He made the call on Tuesday while receiving the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, who visited him in Ibadan.
Ladoja said he was worried about the “precarious situation” at the hospital, noting an acute shortage of medical personnel. “I am worried about the present precarious situation of the health facility. There is also an acute shortage of medical personnel. Urgent action must be taken to arrest the situation,” he said.
Despite his concerns, the Olubadan commended Tinubu’s efforts in restoring the hospital’s standing, adding, “However, I commend the efforts of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for bringing back the lost glory of the hospital.”
He urged the Federal Government to sustain and accelerate these efforts to fully address the challenges facing the facility.
