Omokri counters Atiku’s Tinubu age claim with 1996 photograph

Reno Omokri has challenged Atiku Abubakar’s claim that President Bola Tinubu is 90 years old. According to PUNCH, Omokri, Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua, cited a 1996 photograph purportedly showing Tinubu with journalist Dele Momodu in London, arguing the image contradicts Atiku’s claim.

The dispute followed a BBC interview where Atiku insisted he had evidence proving Tinubu’s age and would present it in court. Omokri urged Nigerians to assess the photo themselves, questioning whether Tinubu looked 60 in 1996, and criticised what he called attempts to “age-shame” political opponents.
