Ondo man arrested for pressing hot iron on 10-year-old daughter’s private parts for bed-wetting

An Ondo State man identified as Mr Paul has been arrested and handed to police after allegedly pressing a hot iron on his 10-year-old daughter’s private parts as punishment for bed-wetting, leaving the child requiring multiple surgeries at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.

As reported by The Punch, Ondo Commissioner for Women Affairs Dr Seun Osamaye confirmed the arrest following a ministry visit to the hospitalised child. “She suffered severe injuries after the incident, and the father has been arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution,” she said.

The child, from Upemen Community in Owo Local Government Area, has undergone one surgery and requires a second skin grafting procedure. The state government intervened to ensure medical care and support for the minor. Mr Paul faces prosecution at the Owo Police Division.
