Ondo: NYSC-bound only son among victims of NAF aircraft crash
A grieving woman has mourned her partner, one of the victims of the Nigerian Air Force NAF 931 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, as recovery efforts intensified.
According to Vanguard, the woman said in a viral video: “It’s Abuja you told me you were going to, you didn’t mention you won’t come back. You left me.’’
Another victim, Ukeme David, an NYSC-bound graduate and only son, had planned to return to Lagos on Wednesday after completing his clearance in Benin but travelled earlier to care for his sister.
“He was a very intelligent student. He left Benin in the aircraft to come and look after his sister, when his mother was to return this weekend. He had intended to come on Wednesday, but Monday became his last day. He was an only son,” a family source said.
Military teams have begun a side-scan sonar survey to locate the submerged aircraft and support recovery operations in the difficult swampy terrain.
