Opposition coalition doomed ahead of 2027 — Omokri
Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has dismissed opposition efforts to forge a coalition against President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027, calling it “dead on arrival,” according to a The Nation report.
Speaking on the City Boy Movement Media One-on-One, Omokri argued Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s competing egos would prevent either from stepping down for the other.
He predicted Tinubu’s re-election, citing support from over 30 governors, $67 billion added to the economy, and GDP outpacing population growth. Omokri, who campaigned against Tinubu in 2023, also praised NELFUND and infrastructure gains as reasons for his shift in support.
