Osun Account Freeze: Adeleke withdraws EFCC suit, credits Tinubu
Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the Osun State Attorney-General to withdraw the state’s lawsuit against the EFCC over the freezing of its government account, citing President Bola Tinubu’s personal intervention.
Adeleke, re-elected on Saturday, told Channels TV he instructed the withdrawal after Tinubu called him to resolve the matter. He alleged former Governor Gboyega Oyetola was behind the EFCC’s move. The EFCC had placed a post-no-debit on Osun’s statutory account days before the election, citing suspicious fund transfers.
According to Peoples Gazette, Tinubu earlier said he was embarrassed by the timing of the EFCC’s action.
