Oyo govt launches cultural anthem to preserve Yoruba heritage
The Oyo State Government has unveiled a new cultural anthem aimed at preserving and promoting Yoruba heritage, according to Tribune Online.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun announced the development at a symposium marking the World Sango Festival and Duro Ladipo Memorial Symposium in Ibadan, revealing that both audio and video versions had been completed.
The anthem will be played after the state anthem at cultural and Isese-related events. Olatunbosun also urged the government to convert the late Duro Ladipo’s residence into a monument or museum to preserve his cultural legacy.
