‘Packaged fraud’: Sowore says Wike’s confession exposes Obi’s 2023 campaign

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, says Nyesom Wike’s recent disclosure about the G5 governors’ role in the 2023 election has vindicated his long-held claim that Peter Obi’s Labour Party campaign was a “packaged fraud” orchestrated behind the scenes.

Reacting on X, Sowore recalled the G5’s meetings, including one with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in London, alongside Obi’s visits to Rivers State and the praise Obi received from Obidients at the time.

“Now Wike is singing like a canary about what happened in 2022/2023,” Sowore wrote.

Wike had revealed that the G5 deliberately diverted votes from Atiku Abubakar to Obi in Edo and Cross River to weaken Atiku, not to help Obi win.

Sowore said this confirmed his claims that political actors backed Bola Tinubu while publicly posing differently, and blackmailed anyone who questioned the arrangement.

“I always said it was a packaged fraud, I have now been vindicated,” he said, urging Nigerians to compare past denials with Wike’s current account.
