Passenger dies on Kenya Airways flight to Lagos
A passenger has died aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, the airline has confirmed.
According to The Cable, the passenger became unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday.
The airline, in a statement issued Wednesday, said its crew administered first aid and followed established emergency procedures.
“Our crew administered first aid as per their training and followed all emergency procedures,” the statement reads.
Kenya Airways said the aircraft landed at the Lagos airport at 9:41pm, where medical personnel attended to the passenger and confirmed the death.
“Upon landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 21:41 hrs, the aircraft was met by medical personnel, and upon further examination, the medical personnel confirmed that the passenger had passed away.”
The airline expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and friends and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the incident.
“We uphold and respect the privacy and dignity for all involved,” it added.
Kenya Airways said it was providing necessary support in coordination with the family, local authorities and aviation regulators.
