Patience Jonathan: I nurtured Azikel refinery boss Eruani from ‘small boy’ into a top businessman

Former First Lady Patience Jonathan has described Azikel Group President, Dr Azibapu Eruani, as a “small boy” she personally mentored into one of Nigeria’s leading businessmen, according to Punch.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the Azikel Refinery in Bayelsa State, she said she introduced Eruani to billionaires Aliko Dangote and Aminu Dantata and encouraged him to aspire to their level.

She also recalled how the Buhari administration initially denied Eruani a refinery licence before later approving three. The visit coincided with the arrival of the refinery’s Crude Distillation Unit.
