‘Plays like Iwobi’ — Fulham gem Nwoko shines in Super Eagles training

Fulham midfielder Chibuzo Nwoko has reportedly made a strong impression in Super Eagles training ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against Russia on Tuesday. According to OwnGoal Nigeria, the 20-year-old has caught the attention of head coach Eric Chelle after joining the senior squad for the first time.

Nwoko, who can operate as a No.6, No.8 or No.10, has impressed with his ability to win possession and contribute in attack. The midfielder spent part of 2026 on loan at Forest Green Rovers, starting 17 consecutive National League matches. He could now be handed his Super Eagles debut against Russia.
