Premier League clubs plan legal action against Man City after 114 guilty verdicts

Share:

Several Premier League clubs are preparing possible legal action against Manchester City following the club’s guilty verdict on 114 of 115 financial charges, according to The Athletic. Rival clubs have reportedly been in discussions with lawyers over potential compensation claims, with some believing they could have suffered financial losses because of City’s alleged rule breaches.

Claims could involve missed Champions League qualification, prize money or sponsorship-related income. The development follows a ruling requiring Everton to pay Burnley £35.1 million over a previous financial breach, creating a potential precedent for compensation claims.

However, any action against City would have to wait until the club’s expected appeal is completed. City have maintained their position that they respected due process and have consistently denied wrongdoing.
