PSG suffer triple injury blow as Dembele, Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos exit against Barcelona
Paris Saint-Germain suffered a major injury setback on Tuesday as Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and captain Marquinhos were forced off during their UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona. According to The Independent, Dembele was the first to depart, leaving the pitch after 19 minutes with a suspected hamstring injury.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner held the back of his left thigh before signalling to the bench for a substitution. Ferran Torres, who joined PSG from Barcelona during the summer, replaced the French forward. Kvaratskhelia subsequently suffered a knee problem, requiring assistance from two PSG medical staff members to leave the field. Summer signing Maghnes Akliouche came on for the Georgian winger.
Marquinhos also sustained an injury after emerging hurt from a challenge, completing a difficult first half for Luis Enrique’s side. The three players have been central to PSG’s recent Champions League success, making their fitness concerns particularly worrying for the French champions. Barcelona also suffered an injury setback, with Dani Olmo forced off after his ankle was trodden on during the first half at the Parc des Princes.
