Real reason Tinubu pulled back Campaign Council list

The Presidency is reviewing the composition of the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council following widespread criticism over questionable inclusions and significant omissions since the list was released on Saturday, Daily Trust reports.

Key concerns include the inclusion of former Humanitarian Affairs Minister Betta Edu and ex-NSITF chairperson Ngozi Olejeme — both facing alleged financial impropriety cases — as well as NRS Chairman Zacheus Adedeji’s appointment as Deputy Director for Fundraising despite his sensitive regulatory role.

Notable omissions flagged include Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, former Plateau Governor Simon Lalong and Deputy House Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

Sources confirmed the council’s leadership structure — including DG Abdulaziz Yari and Secretary Hope Uzodinma — will remain unchanged while membership is adjusted.
