Releasing Tinubu’s records could endanger lives, reveal our tactics – FBI tells US court
The FBI has asked a US court for permission to submit sealed, judge-only declarations explaining why it withheld investigative records on drug trafficking allegations against President Bola Tinubu, TheCable reported.
In an application dated August 20, the agency argued that disclosure could reveal law enforcement techniques or endanger lives. The case stems from FOIA requests filed by Aaron Greenspan over a 1990s Chicago heroin ring. Judge Beryl Howell had earlier ruled the FBI’s refusal to confirm or deny records “improper.” The FBI said it would explain its withholding rationale by August 28 if granted approval.
