Rumours claim that Kim Jong un died after falling into coma as the country risk ‘civil war’
Wild rumors have surfaced on social media claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has died following a severe cerebral hemorrhage, according to a report by the Daily Star.
The unverified claims gained traction after Wanjun Xie, Chairman of the China Democracy Party, posted on X alleging that Kim suffered a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma. The online claims alleged that despite medical intervention from Chinese specialists, the North Korean leader succumbed to his injuries and was secretly transported back home. Furthermore, the rumors suggested his death could disrupt succession plans for his daughter, Kim Ju-ae, and potentially plunge the secretive nation into a civil war, prompting alleged troop movements by China’s Northern Theater Command.
However, investigations revealed no concrete evidence to substantiate the claims. While online speculation alleged the source was defector Ji Seong-ho, checks showed he has not spoken to the media in years. Kim’s most recent public appearance occurred on October 13 when he inaugurated the National Defence Revolution Museum. North Korea’s state media has published no updates regarding his health. The rumors follow prior warnings from South Korean intelligence regarding the leader’s weight and associated health risks.
