SDP’s Adebayo promises N200 per litre for petrol, cooking gas, jet fuel if elected President in 2027
Social Democratic Party presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has promised to reduce the prices of petrol, cooking gas and aviation fuel to N200 per litre within 12 months of taking office, if elected president in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with NAN in Abuja on Sunday, Adebayo, as reported by TheCable, said the pricing regime would be sustained by reviving existing refineries, encouraging modular refinery operations and restoring what he described as the original subsidy framework — reserving 450,000 barrels of crude oil daily for domestic consumption.
“SDP will pick cooking gas, petrol and Jet A1; those three, we will put them under a regime where the price does not go past N200,” he said, adding that proceeds from other petroleum derivatives would fund the arrangement.
