Segun Odegbami at 74: Why his relationship with the woman he loved didn’t work out

Nigerian football legend Segun Odegbami, 74, has opened up on his failed marriage and his enduring friendship with businesswoman Oyindamola Adeyemi, in an exclusive interview with P.M. News.

Odegbami admitted he was “not a good husband” to his ex-wife Jumoke Tejumola, whom he married in 1978 before their divorce was finalized in 2012, blaming years of physical separation while his family lived abroad. He described Adeyemi as his “best friend,” revealing they nearly married and share a son, but chose friendship over romance over a decade ago.

Odegbami said no one occupies his heart romantically today, only his children, whom he called his “best friends.”
