Selena Gomez faces fraud suit over mental health startup Wondermind
Hollywood star Selena Gomez is being sued by five investors who backed Wondermind Global, the mental health business she co-founded with her mother, according to the BBC.
The shareholders claim Gomez failed to fulfil promises to actively build the brand, leaving it in “financial calamity,” and are seeking to recover about $1.2m invested plus damages.
The lawsuit alleges Wondermind’s founders misrepresented ad deals, an app and other initiatives as already underway, and that the company failed to pay employees and vendors on time.
Gomez’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment.
