Several hospitals turned away gospel singer Toluwanisings after collapse — Aide
Late gospel singer Toluwanisings reportedly rejected by eight hospitals before death
Late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, was reportedly turned away by several hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State, after suddenly collapsing.
According to The ICIR, his media aide, Babadunni Gbolabo, disclosed this during an interview with BBC Yoruba on Thursday.
Gbolabo said the singer was healthy before collapsing, adding that efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful.
“He was not sick; he was very fine and in perfect condition,” he said.
“We visited up to seven or eight hospitals in this Ibadan, but God said his time had come.”
The aide alleged that some hospitals cited doctors’ strikes or unavailability, while others refused treatment.
Toluwanisings had performed at fellow gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba’s worship concert in Ibadan on Tuesday, October 13, shortly before his death.
The Osun-born singer, who gained prominence in 2021, is survived by his wife and two children.
His family is expected to announce burial arrangements later.
