Six Nigerians deported from Ireland over 35 criminal offences
The Irish government has deported six Nigerian nationals with a combined 35 criminal convictions in a joint operation with Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
According to Peoples Gazette, Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Jim O’Callaghan said the deportees, aged 25 to 40, were flown from Dublin to Rome before joining a Frontex flight to Lagos on July 28.
The €76,895 operation involved Garda officers, medical staff, an interpreter and a human rights observer, with more deportation flights planned through 2026.
