Sowore alleges Tinubu hospitalised in France

The claim is disputed: Sowore alleged Tinubu was hospitalised in France, while the Presidency said he was “hale and hearty” and on a working vacation.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is hospitalised in France.

Daily Post that Sowore made the claim on Monday during an interview on the television station’s Prime Time programme, amid Tinubu’s prolonged stay outside Nigeria.

Sowore alleged that some of the President’s public appearances were staged to conceal his health condition, drawing comparisons with former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Yar’Adua.

“Reliable sources have said Tinubu is undergoing treatment in France. Those once-in-a-while appearances are designed to fool the public.

“They used the same language when Yar’Adua and Buhari were sick and in the hospital for a long time, saying the president can govern from anywhere.

“Tinubu is hospitalised in France. I don’t know what ailment it is because we don’t have those details, and that is why they have not discharged him from the hospital,” he said.

However, the Presidency has rejected health concerns, with Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga saying Tinubu is “hale and hearty” and working from abroad.
