There’ll be mass action if Atiku is arrested over corruption petition – Dino Melaye
Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has warned the Federal Government against inviting or arresting ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar over a corruption petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
According to PUNCH, Melaye said the ADC would mobilise Nigerians if Atiku were targeted over what he called a frivolous petition.
The petition, filed by former lawmaker Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, seeks reopening of corruption allegations dating to Atiku’s tenure as vice-president. Atiku has denied wrongdoing, while a Lagos High Court in 2006 nullified an EFCC administrative indictment against him. There was no indication Atiku had been invited or arrested.
