“This election is about you” – Tinubu tells Nigerian youths
Tinubu has told Nigerian youths their future rides on the 2027 election, begging them to collect their PVCs at a campaign rally in Port Harcourt.
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and take part in the 2027 general elections, saying the outcome will have a direct bearing on their future, Vanguard reports.
He spoke on Saturday at the Rainbow Coalition presidential campaign rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
“To the youth of Nigeria, I’m looking at you. This election is about you. It’s not about me. Your future depends on this election,” he said.
“It is left for you to use the weapon you have. And that weapon is the PVC,” he added, urging those without cards to collect them.
Tinubu said previous administrations left unpaid pensions and gratuities running into billions and trillions of naira, adding that his government was clearing the obligations. “We are sharing prosperity already,” he said. He also named economic development as the key tool against poverty.
