Thomas Tuchel explains Jordan Pickford decision after England drop Everton star

England manager Thomas Tuchel has explained his decision to drop Jordan Pickford for the Nations League clash with Spain, insisting the Everton goalkeeper had done “absolutely nothing wrong”. According to Liverpool Echo, Tuchel selected Leeds United goalkeeper James Trafford for the 3-2 defeat at Wembley.

The England boss said Trafford deserved the opportunity after making a positive start to the Premier League season following his summer move from Manchester City. Tuchel also revealed he planned to give both goalkeepers two matches during the international break. Pickford remained an unused substitute as England conceded three goals against the world champions.
