Tinubu’s economic policies killed my mother – Amaechi
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has linked his mother’s death to the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying rising medicine costs made it difficult for his family to care for her.
Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, made the claim during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today aired on Friday, according to The Sun.
“Because policies are killing people. I’ve lost my mother,” he said.
Amaechi alleged that his mother was healthy before Tinubu assumed office but became difficult to treat because of the rising cost of drugs.
“Before Tinubu, my mother was healthy. Suddenly, by the time Tinubu came, it was difficult to buy drugs for my mother. I know most of you won’t believe this.”
He said the economic hardship was affecting many Nigerians and cited drug imports as an example.
Amaechi has repeatedly criticised the Tinubu administration’s economic policies, including the removal of the petrol subsidy and its wider economic reforms.
