Tinubu moves to block additional evidence in FBI, DEA records lawsuit
President Bola Tinubu has asked a United States federal court to reject an application by transparency activist Aaron Greenspan seeking to introduce additional records in a lawsuit involving FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration files.
According to Daily Post, Tinubu’s lawyers filed their objection on October 15 before the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
Greenspan submitted the application on October 8, seeking judicial notice of documents concerning alleged hacking activities, criminal proceedings and media reports.
The materials were intended to support his request to obtain limited discovery from Tinubu.
However, the president’s lawyers argued that the 176 pages of documents failed to establish any connection between the alleged hacking and the ongoing litigation.
They also challenged the application’s timing, insisting the materials should have been submitted earlier.
“News articles are not appropriate for judicial notice for the truth, content, or veracity of their claims,” the lawyers argued.
The lawsuit concerns access to historical US investigative records. The allegations do not establish criminal wrongdoing by Tinubu.
