‘Tinubu Must Go’ coordinator gives Kano police seven days to explain meeting disruption
National Coordinator of the “Tinubu Must Go” movement, Abba Hikima, has given the Kano State Police Command seven days to explain why its October 11 gathering was prevented.
According to Daily Post, Hikima made the demand in a Freedom of Information request addressed to the Commissioner of Police, seeking answers to nine questions about the police action, alleged security threats and reported use of tear gas.
“What was the actual reason and justification for preventing the TMG gathering from taking place inside the privately booked venue?” Hikima asked.
He also questioned why police allegedly failed to secure the venue despite deploying armed personnel.
“Given the very substantial number of armed police personnel deployed, why was the Command unable or unwilling to secure the venue and allow the lawful gathering to proceed?” he queried.
Hikima warned that failure to provide the requested information could prompt legal action and petitions against responsible authorities over the incident.
