Trump declines to pardon Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three children
US President Donald Trump has declined to intervene in the case of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts woman accused of killing her three young children, according to a report by PUNCH.
Clancy, 36, faces three counts of first-degree murder over the January 2023 deaths of her children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — at the family’s home in Duxbury. A mistrial was declared last week after the jury deadlocked 11-1 following a week of deliberations, with a retrial expected as early as this fall.
Trump addressed the case Sunday after Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, publicly appealed to him on television for a pardon. “There is no winner there. There is no win no matter what you do. Three children are dead,” Trump said, adding that the matter was “a state situation, not a federal” one.
Clancy’s defense has argued she suffered postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.
