Trump snubs NYC 9/11 memorial plans because he won’t be allowed to speak

President Donald Trump will not attend this year’s September 11 memorial ceremony in New York, opting instead to mark the day at the Pentagon, according to a report by New York Mag.

Trump’s team had reportedly planned his attendance until learning he would not be permitted to deliver remarks — a rule barring political speeches at the site since 2012.

Vice President J.D. Vance will represent the administration in New York, where former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama are expected to attend the 25th anniversary event.
