Trump tells supporters: ‘Cheat like hell’ to win midterm elections
US President Donald Trump has urged his supporters to “cheat like hell” to secure Republican victories in the upcoming midterm elections, The Daily Beast reports.
Speaking at a Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Trump led supporters, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in a controversial pledge urging them to mobilise family and friends to vote, regardless of registration status, according to Daily Beast.
The remarks came as Trump pushed for voter ID and proof-of-citizenship requirements through the stalled SAVE America Act. Republicans reportedly fear major losses in November amid concerns over Trump’s economic policies, low approval ratings and the war in Iran.
