Trump waives Russia-related sanctions days before enforcement
US President Donald Trump has waived several Russia-related sanctions and tariffs days before their scheduled implementation.
According to Reuters, the measures were introduced under legislation Trump signed in September to target countries purchasing Russian oil and gas.
In an executive order issued Friday, Trump justified the exemptions as serving American national interests.
The decision comes amid tensions with Ukraine and concerns that Russian energy revenues could support Moscow’s ongoing war efforts.
