Trump wants AI renamed, asks followers to pick from three options

President Donald Trump has asked his followers to vote on whether artificial intelligence should be given a new name, Punch reports.

In a post on X on Saturday, Trump proposed three alternatives to “Artificial Intelligence” — Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence and Supreme Intelligence — arguing the current term was “inaccurate” and “ineloquent” relative to the technology it describes.

“A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI),” he wrote, before inviting users to vote on the best name for what he called an “ever growing ‘Revolution.'”

In a separate Truth Social post the same day, Trump further announced plans to establish an “AI Force” and appoint an AI “Czar,” modelled after the Space Force created during his first term, as part of efforts to accelerate the technology’s development in the United States.

He also lashed out at critics of the industry, vowing that his administration would not allow attempts to undermine it.

“We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows,” he wrote, underscoring AI’s growing centrality to his broader policy agenda.
