Two Nigerians sentenced to 20 years in Ghana over trafficking, cyber fraud
A Ghanaian court has sentenced two Nigerians, Kingsley Ndifon, 29, and Emmanuel Akong, 25, to 20 years’ imprisonment each for trafficking fellow Nigerians into Ghana and forcing them into cybercrime.
According to Punch Newspapers, Circuit Court ‘B’ in Tema convicted the pair after police, acting on a distress call, rescued 11 Nigerians held captive in Sebrepor since 2023. Victims were reportedly starved, beaten and coerced into internet fraud. The sentences for trafficking and causing harm will run concurrently, meaning each defendant serves 20 years in total.
