UK court begins trial over Nigerian student’s death linked to fake Rolex debt
A UK court has heard that Nigerian student Khaleed Oladipo, 20, was allegedly stabbed to death by former friend Harper Dennis, 18, over a debt linked to a fake Rolex watch, according to Punch Newspapers, citing The Independent.
Prosecutor Jane Osborne KC told Leicester Crown Court that Dennis believed Oladipo owed him £3,000 after a jeweller rejected the counterfeit watch.
Oladipo was stabbed six times while on the phone with his girlfriend on February 3, asking his attacker why he had stabbed him. Dennis, who denies murder, also faces weapons and phone-related charges. The trial continues.
