UK PM Burnham exchanges messages with Trump aide impersonator
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham exchanged messages with a person impersonating White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, according to a report by BBC News, which cited Politico as the first to report the security breach.
A government spokesperson declined to comment, citing national security. Sources said Burnham became suspicious and reported the “few messages” once he believed the contact was illegitimate. The BBC noted a similar incident last year involving Wiles’ phone being hacked by an impersonator who contacted senior US officials using her stolen contacts list.
