US female teacher caught sexting student pleads guilty, permanently banned from teaching
A 29-year-old female teacher in Kentucky, United States, has been permanently banned from teaching after pleading guilty to sexual abuse charges involving a student.
According to the New York Post, Rachel Clement, a former Henderson County High School teacher, admitted to two counts of first-degree sexual abuse involving a position of authority and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
Henderson Circuit Judge Karen Wilson accepted her guilty pleas following an investigation launched in May over sexually explicit messages sent to a student.
Under the plea agreement, Clement is prohibited from teaching anywhere in the United States and must register as a sex offender for life.
She is also barred from contacting the victim, his family or the school district.
Prosecutor Herb McKee Jr. said authorities and the victim’s family supported the agreement.
“We believe the evidence fit those charges,” he said.
Clement faces sentencing on January 4, 2027, with potential imprisonment.
