VeryDarkMan to lawyers: Stop calling law noble, it’s one of ‘the brokest professions in Nigeria’
Social media activist VeryDarkMan has fired back at lawyers who criticised his appearance at the Nigerian Bar Association’s 66th Annual General Conference, describing law as “one of the poorest professions in Nigeria” and questioning how many trained lawyers actually have jobs or go to court.
In a video shared on Friday, as reported by The Punch, the activist said: “This bunch of clowns are telling me that law is a noble profession. Well, lately, law has not been a noble profession. It is what it is.”
VeryDarkMan, who was invited to speak on insecurity at the Port Harcourt conference, said he attended to amplify the voices of ordinary Nigerians. “I spoke on behalf of the poor people. I spoke on behalf of the people that don’t have a voice,” he said, dismissing elitist objections to his presence with: “Because a son of nobody was seen in your midst.”
He challenged critics to honestly assess graduate unemployment within the legal profession before defending its nobility.
