‘We cannot win any ward for Obi in Anambra’ – NDC Chairman
The Anambra State Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), David Chukwudifu, has warned that the party cannot win any ward in the state for its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, if the current rift persists.
Chukwudifu spoke in an interview with The PUNCH on the reported disagreement between the party’s state executives and supporters of Obi.
“I do not think we can win any ward in Anambra State, let alone a local government or the state, for Peter Obi if we continue in this direction,” he said.
He described the situation as ill-treatment rather than a disagreement, claiming he and Obi have never met. He said Obi has not met any South-East chairmen since joining the party on May 3, 2026, and that calls and WhatsApp messages went unanswered.
Chukwudifu alleged that another group that migrated with Obi from the ADC sold nomination forms, screened aspirants and held a primary without involving the state structure.
He said he wrote to the party’s national leadership on May 26 and 27, 2026, but has received no response.
