Why I asked Kwankwaso to stop El-Rufai’s return to Nigeria— Galadima
Nigeria Democratic Congress chieftain Buba Galadima says he begged Rabiu Kwankwaso to persuade former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai not to return to Nigeria from Egypt.
According to Daily Post, Galadima made the disclosure while appearing on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast.
He said: “In fact, I advised him that he should be careful of the way he carries himself, that he either goes on exile or they will jail him.
“I went and met Kwankwaso and told Kwankwaso that he should beg El-Rufai not to come back. These people do not mean well to him.”
Galadima also accused President Bola Tinubu and his associates of ingratitude towards El-Rufai, saying the former governor was now suffering consequences similar to what he had inflicted on others.
El-Rufai was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission after returning from Egypt in February.
He subsequently faced allegations involving corruption, contract fraud, cybercrime and phone tapping. A Federal High Court granted him N100 million bail in May, but he remains in custody after reportedly failing to satisfy the bail conditions.
