Why Tinubu is fighting to keep his FBI records sealed — Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s opposition to releasing his FBI and DEA records, insisting the President “has no criminal record” and that FBI files often contain benign, non-criminal information on millions of people.

According to Punch, Omokri cited a 2003 US Embassy letter he says cleared Tinubu of wrongdoing while he was Lagos governor.

He questioned whether Nigerians would want their own private, non-criminal records exposed to political rivals, as opposition figures continue demanding transparency over the President’s US legal history.
