Wike’s son submits US passport amid $2.1m Abuja land dispute

Jordan Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has presented his American passport before an Abuja court in a disputed $2.1 million land acquisition case.

According to Premium Times, Justice Sylvanus Oriji ordered Wike to produce the passport following questions about his whereabouts when the alleged transaction occurred in 2025.

Claimants Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited allege they paid Wike $2.1 million to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and Guzape, Abuja.

They alleged $2 million was intended for his father, while $100,000 was for him.

Wike has denied receiving the money or having knowledge of the transaction. During cross-examination, he maintained that he was outside Nigeria at the relevant time and had travelled using his American passport.

The claimants said they sought a refund after discovering the plots were owned by another company, before filing their suit to recover the money.
